Our Next Lakota Tipi Camp - Summer 2013
The Lakota Tipi Camp is located on the land of the Lakota Waldorf School (LWS) near Kyle, in the Medicine Root District, on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. The Lakota Tipi Camp is a place to host and guide visitors through the Pine Ridge Reservation and provide services and vacation opportunities for groups up to 10 people, for individuals, families and schools.

We need a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 13 participants. If interested, fill our our registration form and we will send you a confirmation letter with payment and annulation conditions.
What you need to know:
Each participant needs to have their own insurance; Lakota tipi camp does not take any responsibility for accidents.
What we offer in the 2 week package:
- Pickup from and to Rapid City airport; 130 Kilometer (80 miles) from Rapid City to the Lakota Tipi camp
- Bus (including gas)
- Accommodation in tipis
- Showers, bathroom and kitchen are available; the Lakota Waldorf Kindergarten will serve as a guesthouse in case of bad weather.
- Breakfast and dinner
- All tours
- Horseback riding - Lakota guides available 24 hour a day
- Lakota guests, drum-groups, artists
- Workshop in traditional cooking
- Workshop in traditional Lakota art (material not included)
- Hiking tour through the Badlands
- Evening with traditional hand-games
You will be visiting:
- Historical places on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation: Wounded Knee, Heritage museum at Red Cloud Indian School, the Historical Center of the Oglala Lakota College, Fort Robinson and the Badlands
- 1-day tour through the Black Hills, Buffalo Gap, visiting Custer State National Park, Crazy Horse Monument, Mount Rushmore and Wind Cave.
- Pow Wow's
- Hiking tour through the Badlands
- The events will differ slightly from group to group depending on what is taking place on the Reservation during the different tour dates.
What you need to bring:
- Sleeping bag and mat, warm sweater, summer nights in the prairie can be fresh, flashlight, good hiking shoes, and a bathing suit. Respect and flexibility for another culture, an open heart to listen and last but not at least interest in Native American culture.
